BLISS Citel is a new brand created by people who have been in the textile industry for a very long time.
These people, BLISS Citel people, have inherited the technical knowledge and resources of Citel – the outdoor performance fabrics manufacturer founded back in 1875 in Sabadell (Barcelona) – and added their own sensitivity and aesthetic perspective.
Our vision is to manufacture performance and decorative fabrics made by and for the senses.
The BLISS Citel identity is founded on strong and multifaceted core values and, like people, we are both wonderfully complex and continuously evolving.
CREATION
We are non-conformists and continue to strive day after day to be the best possible version of ourselves. We challenge to empower, through the use of BLISS Citel fabrics, the furniture, umbrellas or cushions that our customers manufacture.
Our creative process is intimately linked to the creative journey of designers, jobbers, product managers, interior designers or architects, who rely on our fabrics to produce their end products. We seek to connect with them on an emotional and professional level in an effort to enhance and facilitate their task, and feel especially fortunate when we have the opportunity to design and work together, side by side, on unique collections.
We never overlook the technical side of our performance fabrics, merging aesthetics with a technical perspective, and we continue to invest in R+D in an effort to ensure the quality and safety of our collections. Our desire is for BLISS Citel to become the place where fashion decor meets performance.
BARCELONA
Just like the city where we were born, we are cosmopolitan, vibrant, creative, young at heart and innovators, and Barcelona has had a major influence on our design perspective. We export our personal view of home decor fabrics all over the world, adapting to different styles and connecting to different markets through the universal language of emotions.
In addition, all our fabrics are manufactured in a factory that is located 80 km from Barcelona and is home to state-of-the-art machinery and processes designed to ensure high-performance fabrics that comply with all European Union safety and quality regulations.
PERFORMANCE
Beauty, unaccompanied by integrity, is worthless, and our premium fabrics are designed to be incorporated into high-quality performance outdoor furniture, cushions and parasols.
BLISS Citel fabrics are made from 100% solution dyed acrylic fabric and, as such, are suitable for use both indoors and outdoors, where they offer a range of premium characteristics that include colour fastness, water and dirt repellence and weather resistance.
The solution-dyeing process infuses pigments directly into the fibre molecules, thereby creating far stronger bonds than those obtained by simply dyeing the thread.
EMOTIONS
We are all about feelings and emotions, and so are our fabrics. Our team has a particular aesthetic sensibility and wishes not only to create products that are pleasing or attractive, but also to excite, to make people sense something unique in our fabrics and, consequently, to add a touch of individuality to the home space.
BLISS Citel aims to create fabrics that stir emotions and enliven the senses.
STORIES
We love telling stories, and behind any of our collections there is a tale, a reason why that is woven into the very thread used as the basis for our fabrics.
We imagine a scenario, a feeling or an idea, then develope and materialise it through the use of chromatic variation, texture and design.
PEOPLE
BLISS Citel is a human brand that is the result of a combination of talents that includes textile designers, traders, technical specialists, weavers, art directors, etc. Above all, we are people who are driven by a commitment and passion for what we do; a team that, in spite of occasional difficulties and uncertainties, push themselves to the limit in the search for self-satisfaction and to offer products that inspire others.
While the majority of our team is distributed between our headquarters and manufacturing base in Barcelona, we also collaborate with a range of internationally-based freelance designers, in an effort to always incorporate something new in our collections. We also have a US team based in Charlotte (NC) that provides service to North America.
SUSTAINABILITY
Long-lasting
Our fundamental approach to sustainability is that there is no better way to protect the environment than by consuming less. To this end, we create long-lasting products that will serve as decorative items for our customers for a very long time. In our opinion, this is the real organic feel, and products that truly stand out are those that are made to last.
Our aim is to be the raw material that offers the features required by any long-lasting furniture item or decorative textile.
Waste water treatment
In addition, we pay special attention to waste treatment – the water used in the manufacturing process is no longer suitable for use, as it may contain contaminants, including bacteria, chemicals and other toxins.
To this end, our factory features its own biological treatment plant, the purpose of which is to reduce contaminants to acceptable levels and make the water safe for discharge back into the environment.
